geographical information, such as countries,states, cities,
and campuses

WAN connections between different geographic locations
• Different buildings and floors
• WAN and LAN connections between the campus, build-ings,
and floors
• An indication of the data-link-layer technology for
WANsand LANs as well as the bandwidth; for example, framerelay,
ISDN, 10Mbps Ethernet, or token ring
• Name of the WAN service provider; if peering, theautonomous
system (AS) number should also be included
• Location and address of the important interconnectiondevices,
such as routers, switches, and firewalls
• Location and address of major enterprise servers,
suchas the mail server, file server, and DNS servers
• Location and address of any VPN severs that connectcorporate
sites via WANs
• Location and address of any remote access servers
andauthentication servers
• Location and address of major network managementstations
